Social Worker at Skärholmen Youth Center

Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for someone who wants to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.

Skärholmen's district administration is one of Stockholm's 11 district administrations and includes the neighborhoods of Bredäng, Sätra, Skärholmen, and Vårberg. Here, more than 1,000 employees work for our 37,000 residents. We offer a municipal operation that we are proud of, and we have a fantastic diversity. Welcome with your unique contribution!

Welcome to us

As part of the social services, we work with promotional and preventive activities focusing on early interventions for children, youth, parents, and adults at risk.

This includes the Prevention Unit as well as Recreation and Play, and together we create safe environments and strengthen the residents of Skärholmen.

The Prevention Unit encompasses school social teams, counselors at the youth center, parental counseling, field assistants, and crime prevention work. The operation is led closely and engaged by the unit manager and group leaders. We are in a development phase where we are shaping new working methods to meet both the new social services law and the needs of the district. As an employee with us, you will become an important part of this.

We are developing our outreach working methods and increasing our mobility and accessibility according to the intentions of the new social services law. To meet citizens' needs and strengthen the transition to first-line social services, the Youth Center is expanding with a counseling position.

Skärholmen's Youth Center promotes young people's physical, mental, and sexual health and is aimed at 12–23-year-olds. Here, midwives, counselors, and doctors work in a joint collaboration between Region Stockholm and Skärholmen's district committee. The unit manager for the preventive and promotional unit is responsible for the counseling operations.

The center receives youth from all over Stockholm County, with nearly half of the visitors coming from Skärholmen. To reach more young people, counselors and midwives actively and systematically work with outreach efforts.
